The largest fish caught during the kids fishing derby at Spring Creek Park at Arcadia Lake was hauled in by Ty Shoffner.

Shoffner’s catfish weighed nearly 7 pounds.

Fish caught by 58 children ranged in all sizes down to a .03-pound sunfish. Park officials said the fish was so small it was the right size for an aquarium.

The overnight rain held off Saturday morning so the fishing competition could continue in the mud. T-shirts, trophies and door prizes were handed out.
