MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — The top receiver on the University of Idaho football team has been dismissed after being convicted of driving under the influence.

Vandals coach Paul Petrino announced Sunday that senior Dezmon Epps of Sacramento, California, had been dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules.

Epps was arrested in Pullman, Washington, in April after a police officer reported seeing him driving the wrong way on a one-way street. He pleaded guilty in June and was sentenced to a day in jail and two years on probation.

Epps caught 79 passes for 980 yards and four touchdowns as a junior.
