Tornado watches issued for 27 Oklahoma counties

The National Weather Service issued tornado watches for 27 counties on Monday.

Tornado watches have been issued for 27 Oklahoma counties, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters say a tornado watch will remain in effect until 9 p.m. Monday and has been issued for the following counties: Beckham, Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Comanche, Cotton, Custer, Dewey, Garfield, Grady, Grant, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Kay, Kingfisher, Kiowa, Logan, Payne, Roger Mills, Tillman and Washita.

Craig, Nowata, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee and Washington counties are under a tornado watch until 1 a.m. Tuesday, according to the weather service.

Cities that fall under the tornado watch include Altus, Anadarko, Cheyenne, Chickasha, Clinton, Cordell, El Reno, Elk City, Frederick, Hobart, Hollis, Kingfisher, Lawton, Mangum, Mustang, Sayre, Taloga, Walters, Watonga, Weatherford and Yukon.
