LONDON (AP) — The Football Association has overturned a red card shown to Tottenham defender Danny Rose during his team's 5-1 defeat by Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Tottenham appealed after Rose was sent off in the 50th minute by referee Andre Marriner for denying a goal scoring opportunity.
Rose brought down City's Edin Dzeko in the penalty area as the striker was about to shoot at goal but replays showed Rose touched the ball. Yaya Toure scored the resulting penalty to give City a 2-0 lead.
The decision to rescind the red card means Rose will not serve a one-match suspension and is available to play for Tottenham against Hull on Saturday.
