COLLEGE STATION, Texas — On Tuesday night, Oklahoma State senior quarterback Zac Robinson lost his grandfather to brain cancer.

On Wednesday morning, the Cowboys lost All-American wide receiver Dez Bryant to an indefinite suspension.

As the week progressed, it was obvious All-American running back Kendall Hunter was lost for another game with a lingering foot injury.

But on Saturday afternoon, Robinson and his teammates were done losing.

One of the toughest weeks imaginable came with a happy ending as OSU courageously posted a 36-31 victory over Texas A&M.

Forget that little is expected of the Aggies this season. This was a game the Cowboys had to win.

Imagine the mood had they lost to the worst team in the Big 12 South?

Conference road wins should count double, and winning doesn’t come easy with two All-Americans back home in Stillwater and your starting quarterback lugging around a heavy heart.

Afterward, Cowboys coach Mike Gundy stopped short of saying the victory over the Aggies was bigger than his team’s season-opening 24-10 triumph over Georgia at Boone Pickens Stadium.

"I’d say it’s pretty comparable,” Gundy said.

(The more games Georgia plays, the less imposing the Bulldogs become. They got throttled 45-19 at Tennessee on Saturday and are now 3-3 on the season.
