Traffic: Oklahoma City tries to cut wait times at intersections
Official says technology could reduce fuel costs by 5%

Oklahoma City motorists may soon see more gas-saving green lights, thanks to new technology at metro area traffic lights.

By linking traffic lights, city officials hope to reduce the number of stops people make at lights by 5 percent, cut overall travel time by 8 percent and cut the waiting time at an individual intersection by 5 percent.
