As for the Sonic business situation, you have to figure it has had an impact. But things will get better when that drive is fixed, I’ll bet.

Shannon also gets this one, from Thomas.

What plans are there to extend NE 122 Street between Kelly and Eastern?

“Unfortunately, the city doesn’t have work planned on this stretch of road at this time,” Shannon says. “Projects like this normally require funding to be provided by bond issues.

“The most recent bond issue was in 2007 and provided approximately $500 million of road construction, which is underway throughout the city. As work is proceeding on these projects, the next bond issue is already being planned and is anticipated in 2017.”

It’s an ongoing job.

By the way ...

For those who might have missed it, the archway over the Will Rogers Turnpike near Vinita has a new name. The former Vinita Service Plaza, known as “the Glass House” by many, is now the Will Rogers Archway.

Oklahoma Turnpike Authority officials announced that those responding to a survey their agency conducted with staff of the Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Recreation overwhelmingly chose that name for the structure.

That tourism plaza is undergoing a major renovation and will have enhanced features when completed, including the history of Will Rogers and his influence on the state.

It should be a real sight to see when you’re traveling that way.

Enjoy your week and drive safely.
