Dean Ramirez, 46, Carter

About 6:10 p.m. Monday, Ramirez was driving a van west on State Highway 152, about five miles east of Sayre, when the vehicle went off the south side of the road, striking an embankment, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Ramirez and passenger Jacklyn Dee Wallace, 26, of Carter were thrown about 105 feet, troopers said. Ramirez died at a Clinton hospital.

Wallace was taken in critical condition to an Oklahoma City hospital.

Unidentified woman

Officials on Tuesday were investigating a fatal crash on the Broken Arrow Expressway.

Police say a car and a van sitting on the side of the road were hit by another car that left the roadway about 3 p.m., Broken Arrow police Sgt. Ed Ferguson said in a news release.

A woman in the second car was pinned in the vehicle, and flown to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where she died, Ferguson said.

The driver of that car was taken to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa where he was stabilized, Ferguson said. One passenger in the van was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, he said.

None of the victims' names were released by police Tuesday.
