PHOENIX (AP) — Phoenix police say a train derailment has caused a rush-hour time closure of a major street in downtown Phoenix.

Police say part of 7th Street between Buckeye Road and Washington Street is shut down to traffic while authorities investigate the scene of what they say is a minor train derailment.

KNXV-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1iz5ZbB) the train derailed near Jackson Street on a bridge just east of Chase Field.

No injuries have been reported. Firefighters are also on the scene to investigate for possible hazardous materials.

Drivers heading south are being asked to use alternate routes so investigators can clean up the scene.

Police say the area round the derailment is safe.
