Transit service in Norman celebrates Dump the Pump Day

Norman's Cleveland Area Rapid Transit offered free bus fares all day Thursday and staged a party afterward at Andrews Park to commemorate Dump the Pump Day.

Cleveland Area Rapid Transit celebrated its 32nd anniversary this week with a party at Andrews Park.

The celebration Thursday coincided with the bus system's sixth annual Dump the Pump Day, which offers free fares all day to raise awareness of Norman's bus system. More than 2,500 bus rides were given Thursday.

The anniversary party featured live music, free snow cones and T-shirt giveaways.
