ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) — Officials say severe thunderstorms moving through Michigan led to travel delays at Detroit Metropolitan Airport and swamped some roads.
Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus says a power outage early Wednesday at its North Terminal caused backups at security screening. Power was restored after a few hours, returning airport operations to normal. Storms delayed some flights, however.
In the Detroit area, heavy morning downpours caused some flooding of freeways during the morning rush hour. In the Lansing area, road flooding also is reported. More storms are in the forecast and authorities are urging people to take needed precautions.
