NORMAN — Guitarist Travis Linville will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Santa Fe Depot, 200 S Jones Ave.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and university students. Those 18 and younger are admitted free.
Linville's performance will close out this year's Sunday Jazz Concert series sponsored by the Performing Arts Studio.
Most people know Linville as a singer/songwriter who performs solo or frequently sits in with local and regional bands. However, this show will highlight his considerable experience in the field of jazz.
Two years ago he opened the Sunday Jazz Concert series, performing with a trio.
“Classic jazz has a lot to do with who I am musically. I'm thrilled about the opportunity to stretch out on some tunes in a great setting. This will be something different for fans who come out regularly to hear me do songwriter material,” Linville said.
Linville began playing guitar at an early age and formed the Burtschi Brothers in 2000. The quartet plays a combination of pop, alternative country and jazz/jam.
When he's not performing, Linville produces records at his Dirty Bird recording studio in Norman.
Tickets are available by calling 307-9320 or at the depot between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. through Friday. Tickets also may be available at the door.
