The eighth-annual Downtown in December winter

celebration kicked off Friday with the lighting of the SandRidge Christmas Tree. These events are planned:

Sunday

→1 to 6 p.m.:

Free admission to the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, 620 N Harvey.

Dec. 6

→1 to 6 p.m.: Free admission to the American Banjo Museum, 9 E Sheridan.

Dec. 13

→1 to 6 p.m.: Free admission to Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum, 1400 Classen Drive.

Dec. 20

→1 to 6 p.m.: Free admission to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, 415 Couch Drive.

Dec. 27

→1 to 6 p.m.: All four museums will have free admission.

Today-Jan. 3

→Noon to 10 p.m.: Ice skating, Devon Ice Rink, Civic Center, 201 N Walker, $8 or $5 if you bring skates.

→Snow tubing Friday, Saturday, Sunday at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark, seven days a week beginning Dec. 18, sponsored by Chesapeake Energy; $10 for 90 minutes.

Today-Dec. 27

→6 to 9:30 p.m.: Ride free on Bricktown water taxi, sponsored by Wimgo, Thursdays through Sundays.

Sunday-Dec. 27

→6 to 9 p.m.: OG&E Garden Lights will decorate the Myriad Botanical Gardens. Crystal Bridge admission free every Sunday.

Sunday-Dec. 27

→1 to 6 p.m.: Free Oklahoma River Holiday Cruise each Sunday.

Dec. 5

→9 a.m.: The SandRidge Santa Run begins, Leadership Square, 211 N Robinson, $25 advance registration fee, $30 day of race.
