SUPER 30 — Six weeks ago, Jenks receiver Jordan Smallwood had no idea what direction his recruiting would take him. That changed after getting an offer from the Sooners after he attended their camp.

Coming up: The Oklahoman's Super 30

The Oklahoman's Super 30 feature series on the state's top football recruits continues with No. 11, Jenks receiver Jordan Smallwood. Here are the last three players we've written about in the series:

No. 14: Carlos Freeman, Midwest City

No. 13: Ben Oberste, Sallisaw

No. 12: Dominique Alexander, Tulsa Washington

Up next: Check out No. 10 on the Super 30 list, a speedy, powerful linebacker who accounted for 108 tackles on one of the toughest defenses in the state last season. Who is he? See Friday's Oklahoman to find out.

No. 11: Jordan Smallwood

School: Jenks

Height: 6-foot-2

Weight: 197 pounds

Position: Wide receiver

Committed to: Oklahoma on June 7

Wyoming was the biggest school to extend a scholarship offer, but the 6-foot-2, 197-pound wideout was hoping for bigger opportunities.

However, that hope was also clouded by some doubts, especially where his No. 1 school, Oklahoma, was concerned.

“At first, I doubted myself. I didn't think I was good enough to play there,” said Smallwood, who is No. 11 on The Oklahoman's Super 30. “I heard about their camp and decided to go, just give it my all and see what happens.”

A couple of days after a strong showing at the camp, Smallwood had the OU offer he had always dreamed of. And a couple days after that, he was committed to the Sooners.

“I realized all I had to do was relax and go play, just show what I could do,” he said. “When it happened, it took awhile for me to get it in my mind and understand it. It was a great experience going through the camp. I got to talk to Coach (Bob) Stoops. I loved every minute of it.”
