Two Oklahomans drowned in a Panhandle lake this week, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Thursday.

Betty Jean McManaway, 48, and Aiden Hammock Thompson, 5, both of Beaver County, were found in Lake Evans Chambers on different days this week, troopers said.

McManaway was last seen running into the lake about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and was discovered in the water about 15 minutes later in front of a boat ramp.

Aiden was found about 2:45 a.m. Thursday, 50 yards off the west bank between a boat ramp and a set of islands, troopers said.

Neither was wearing a life vest, troopers said.
