Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers will be enforcing speed limits and looking for people driving under the influence this Labor Day weekend. Drivers also need to follow laws regarding construction zones, spokesman Capt. Chris West said. Failing to merge or driving on the shoulder can result in a fine from $260 to $280.

How to avoid ear, eye infections
The state Department of Environmental Quality warns swimmers that microorganisms can cause ear and eye infections, swimmer’s itch, intestinal diseases and some forms of meningitis.
Swimmers should be aware of blue-green algae.
When water is heated and stagnant, the risk for exposure will increase. When swimming, the
agency recommends these precautions:
→Hold nose or wear nose plugs when jumping
into the water.
→Wash open skin cuts and scrapes with soap
and water immediately after swimming.
→Avoid swallowing water.
→Wear ear plugs to prevent ear infections.
→Wear swim goggles or masks to prevent eye infections.
→Avoid swimming near storm drains.
→Take children to the restroom frequently.
→Use swim diapers on infants.
→Stay away from any area that has floating
debris, stagnant water, oil sheens or dead fish.
