Three utility poles were toppled Tuesday morning, causing a power outage at the Governor's Mansion, 820 NE 23, and traffic problems along NE 23 near the state Capitol, authorities said.
Surveillance video from the Governor's Mansion shows a truck clipping a low-hanging wire and causing the poles to topple, said Karen Kurtz, Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. spokeswoman.
The problem was reported about 6:15 a.m. and Oklahoma City police closed NE 23 between Kelley Avenue and Interstate 235 until the lines and poles were removed.
A spokesman for Gov. Mary Fallin said the power outage Tuesday morning did not affect normal operations at the mansion and that emergency generators immediately came on.
