Tulsa University Athletic Director Ross Parmley was fired Tuesday, days after The Oklahoman disclosed he had been identified by the FBI in a court affidavit as an admitted gambler.
TU President Steadman Upham made the decision.
"I am saddened to make this announcement for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that I considered Ross a true professional in intercollegiate athletics," he wrote in a statement posted on the university's website about 7:30 pm. Tuesday.
