RedHawks 10, Reno 4
The RedHawks early offensive woes of late went away quick, as they scored five first-inning runs en route to a big win over Reno in the opener of a four-game series Tuesday in front of 3,776 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.

The RedHawks took advantage of three walks by Aces starter Cesar Valdez to jump up big early.
After Valdez walked three of the first four batters he faced, Hernan Iribarren delivered a two-run double and then Max Ramirez followed with a three-run home run.
The RedHawks scored in each of the first four innings to jump up 7-1. In their previous three games, the RedHawks had scored just two runs in the first four innings.
The team used a group of relievers to get through the game as Zach Phillips started for the first time this season and pitched three scoreless innings.
Phillips extended his scoreless streak to 12 2/3 innings over all or part of his last nine appearances.
Michael Kirkman, who had been a starter until recently, made his second relief appearance of the season, giving up a home run to the first batter he faced. But Kirkman (13-3) bounced back nicely, throwing four innings and not allowing another run while striking out six.
Pitching shake up
Phillips' start was necessitated by the possibility that Rich Harden could make a rehab start for the RedHawks in Tuesday's game.
RedHawks manager Bobby Jones waited until not long before the game to announce Phillips as the starter.
The Fort Worth Star Telegram reported the change in plans for Harden was not due to a physical setback.
Harden was placed on the Rangers' disabled list Sunday, retroactive to Aug. 8, with right shoulder tendinitis.
Harden could start for the RedHawks later in the series.
It would be Harden's second rehab stint with the RedHawks this year. Last month, Harden went 0-2 with a 5.19 ERA in four starts.
