Tulsa firefighters battling blaze at the School of Arts and Sciences

Tulsa firefighters are battling a blaze at former Barnard Elementary school building near 17th Street and Lewis Avenue.

Lewis Avenue is closed between 16th and 19th streets.

The Tulsa School of Arts and Sciences leased the Barnard Elementary School beginning in 2012 to move its charter school there.

Tulsa Fire Department reports that eight firefighters have been sent to area hospitals. Ten crews are on the scene with 60 fire personnel.
