TULSA — A woman who said she was searching for her missing Chihuahua fired a gun into a crowd of people early Sunday morning, wounding two outside of a northeast Tulsa home, police Capt. Shawn King said.

The two victims did not suffer life-threatening wounds, King said.

One bullet struck a victim in the leg, and another grazed a second victim.

What happened
About midnight, the woman approached a group of people standing outside the home in the 800 block of N Saint Louis Avenue, King said.

She told them she was missing her Chihuahua and asked them if they had seen the dog, but they told her they hadn't and she walked away.

A short time later, the woman returned to the house and again inquired about the Chihuahua, and she became frustrated when the group told her again they had not seen the pet, King said.

"They didn't have the dog. They didn't know what she was talking about,” King said.

The woman then walked away from the group before turning and opening fire with a pistol, King said.

The woman fired multiple times, shooting the two victims, King said.

The shooter then ran away from the scene and was still at large Sunday.

About the shooter
King said the shooter told the victims she lived "down the street,” but police have not been able to determine which house is hers.

The woman was described only as being in her mid 30s and wearing dark clothes.
