Tulsa Washington linebacker Jonathan Willis picks Oregon State

by Scott Wright Published: October 5, 2013

Another Tulsa Washington defensive player is headed to OSU — but this time, it’s Oregon State.

Jonathan Willis, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound outside linebacker, has decided to commit to the Beavers, Tulsa Washington coach Marvin Dantzler told The Oklahoman Saturday night.

He joins teammate Jordan Brailford as the Hornets’ second Division I commit. Brailford is committed to Oklahoma State as a defensive end.

Willis played defensive end last season, piling up 15 sacks. He was at defensive end to begin the season, but after some defensive struggles, the Hornets switched to a 3-4 scheme, moving Willis to outside linebacker.

Willis has 6.5 sacks during the Hornets’ 3-2 start, and played a key role in Friday’s 23-13 win over Enid, Tulsa Washington’s best defensive performance of the season.
