Tulsa women's coach hires her husband as assistant

TULSA - Tulsa women's basketball coach Charlene Thomas-Swinson should know her new assistant well.

Thomas-Swinson said Friday she's hired her husband, Aaron Swinson, as an assistant coach for the Golden Hurricane.

Aaron Swinson has been an assistant head coach for the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League the last two seasons. He's also been a head boys coach at a Tulsa high school.

The Auburn graduate played 12 seasons of pro basketball, including a stint in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns.
