TULSA — Tulsans joined a flood of government agencies, churches and other organizations Thursday to rush aid to the earthquake-ravaged nation of Haiti, while others waited to hear from loved ones.

A medical team from In His Image family medicine residency program affiliated with Hillcrest Hospital will leave as early as Saturday for Haiti, said Michelle Couture, who coordinates international missions trips for the group.

"It’s all still coming together,” she said. Drs. Nick Carroll, Valentina Augustin and Sujan Joshi are expected to go, as well as the Rev. Joel Leitch, a counselor. They will partner with Florida and Michigan teams, bringing a large supply of medical equipment from Blessings International in Tulsa, Couture said.

The team is expected to be in Haiti seven to 10 days.
