Tulsa's Dfest lines up nearly 150 bands

TULSA — Dfest announced its second round of bands for the July 25-26 music festival, adding the headliners The All-American Rejects, The Roots, Ty England, moe., Phantom Planet and The Apples in Stereo.

"Dfest continues to set itself apart as one of the most diverse music festivals in the country, and these headliners certainly further that mission,” co-Dfest creator Tom Green said. "This going to be another great year packed with phenomenal acts. You don't want to miss Dfest this year.”

Organizers expect more than 60,000 people to attend the conference and festival.

Similar to Austin's South by Southwest, Dfest showcases the best emerging artists in the country. In addition to the nearly 30 headlining bands, 120 unsigned acts will perform this year in conjunction with the two-day conference. The artists will represent more than 20 musical genres on a dozen stages.

This year more than 1,500 unsigned artist submissions were received for just 120 spots. Seventy-three of the chosen unsigned artists are from Oklahoma.
