This year's festival will include the return of a car show and will be held exclusively downtown, a departure from past years.

“It just needed a revamping,” Tuttle community outreach manager Chantz Wesnidge said. “We saw that it had kind of started to dwindle over the last few years, and it needed a jolt and some new life breathed into it.”

The festival gets under way with a 10 a.m. parade along Main Street, beginning at SE 4 and ending at SW 4. There also will be an exhibit from the Oklahoma National Guard, a children's play area, a petting zoo and pony rides. Live entertainment also is included before the event closes at 4 p.m.

And there will be ice cream. Wesnidge said nine flavors — from chocolate to orange sherbet — will be available for visitors this year. The cost is $1.50 for a cup or cone. All proceeds go to benefit the Tuttle Area Chamber of Commerce's projects fund.

“It's a true hometown atmosphere,” Wesnidge said. “People will smile, wave or talk to you. We're the epitome of Small Town U.S.A. It's a very family-friendly environment.”
