Next "Bachelor” is "Bachelorette” reject
LOS ANGELES — If the new man looking for love on ABC's "The Bachelor” looks familiar, that's because he was rejected last season on "The Bachelorette.”

Jason Mesnick, whose proposal to DeAnna Pappas was spurned during the finale, will search for romance among 25 bachelorettes when the 13th season of the reality series returns in January.

ABC announced that the single father, 32, is looking for a woman who "has a real curiosity about the world, who loves life and can find passion in life's smallest moments.” The network is casting for eligible women to vie for Mesnick's attention.

Mesnick lost out in May in the fourth-season "Bachelorette” season finale to professional snowboarder Jesse Csincsak, who's engaged to Pappas. She herself was rejected by previous "Bachelor” Brad Womack during the series' 11th season.

"Desperate Housewives” stars teaming for Emmys
LOS ANGELES — The stars of "Desperate Housewives,” snubbed by the Emmy nominators this time around, will get a moment in the ceremony's spotlight anyway.

Marcia Cross, Dana Delany, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria Parker and Nicollette Sheridan were among presenters announced by the TV academy. The actresses will hand out a trophy at the Sept. 21 ceremony, which will air on ABC.

ABC's "Housewives” drama remains popular with viewers, and the Emmys could use a ratings boost: Last year's ceremony posted its second-smallest audience on record, just under 13 million.

Other pairings: Emmy nominees Julia Louis-Dreyfus ("The New Adventures of Old Christine”) and Hugh Laurie ("House”) will present separately, and Tina Fey (”30 Rock”) and Amy Poehler ("Saturday Night Live”) will team. Fey and Poehler worked together on "Saturday Night Live” and co-starred in the movie "Baby Mama.”

"It's always fun to come up with unique pairings, cast reunions and surprising personalities as presenters on the Emmy show, and this year we've got a number of those,” Emmy executive producer Ken Ehrlich said.
