TV controversy brewing: 'All My Babies' Mamas' is Oxygen's answer to 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo'
It isn't scheduled to air until springtime, but Oxygen's newest foray into reality television is already causing people to take to the Internet in boycott.
“All My Babies’ Mamas" features rapper Shawty Lo and the 10 women he has fathered 11 children with. According to the show's press release, it aims to “capture the highs and lows of this extreme 'blended family' that is anything but ordinary, while also showing the drama and the passion behind life's most unexpected situations."
Some people just aren't buying into what Oxygen is selling, mostly because they feel the show is simply playing into racial stereotypes. People like Sabrina Lamb, who created an online petition, has ripped the show, saying of it: "11 children are forced to witness their 10 unwed mothers clamor for financial support, emotional attention and sexual reward from Shawty-Lo, the apathetic ‘father.'"
