Q: Will "Without a Trace” be returning with new episodes? If not, why not?

Clifton, N.J.

A: Anthony LaPaglia’s series will be gone from the CBS lineup next season, but hardly without a trace, since seven seasons constitutes a very healthy run for a show these days. Economics may have been the biggest factor in the show’s demise, since as a series gets "up there” in years, the cost of making it tends to increase in terms of renegotiated cast salaries and the like.

Q: Do the professional dancers on "Dancing With the Stars” get bonuses if their star makes it to the finals?

Vero Beach, Fla.

A: Apparently not, from what we’ve been able to determine through various sources. The pros on the ABC show get a flat rate for each week of the competition, while the celebrities are paid a higher amount for the entire season — with bonuses for the stars who place first, second and third.

Q: What ever happened to Glynnis O’Connor? She made several TV movies, including one with John Travolta, in the 1970s.

Mission Viejo, Calif.

A: That one would be "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble,” from the era when the actress also was working primarily with Robby Benson in feature films ("Jeremy,” "Ode to Billy Joe”).

O’Connor actually has kept working fairly steadily, even if she hasn’t had a huge output of work each year.
