ATHENS, Ala. (AP) — A reactor at the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant is operating at only partial power after an unplanned shutdown.

A report filed by the Tennessee Valley Authority says the Unit 2 reactor shut down unexpectedly on Saturday. The reactor was going through testing after maintenance at the time.

The federal utility says all the safety systems operated like they were supposed to.

The plant's other two reactors weren't affected, and TVA says Unit 2 was producing power at 19 percent of its capacity on Wednesday morning.

Browns Ferry is located near Athens in north Alabama.
