Two Boynton men die in Muskogee County crash

Clark Barton, 19, and Eugene Taylor, 55, both of Boynton, died Friday afternoon in a Muskogee County crash, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Two men died Friday afternoon after vehicles crashed into each other head on, on U.S. 62 in Muskogee County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

About 3:40 p.m. Friday, Clark Barton, 19, of Boynton, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet pickup southbound on U.S. 62 when he crossed the center of the roadway and hit a 1999 GMC Suburban driving northbound. Eugene Taylor, 55, also of Boynton, was driving the Suburban.

Both Barton and Taylor were pinned in their vehicles during the crash and were declared dead at the scene, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The air bags in both vehicles deployed. Taylor wore a seat belt, but Barton did not, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported. has disabled the comments for this article.
