Two Bristow residents die in Oklahoma wreck

Two people died Thursday after a traffic accident in Creek County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Two people died Thursday after a traffic accident in Creek County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Just before 11:15 a.m., Thelma Stevens, 64, of Bristow, was driving a 2002 Buick sedan west on State Highway 33. Christopher Hildebrand, 27, of North Las Vegas, Nev., was driving a 2012 Acura sedan north on SH 48. Hildebrand failed to observe a stop sign, entered the intersection and hit the Buick in the driver’s side, troopers said.

Stevens and her passenger, Durward Stevens, 64, of Bristow, died at the scene. They were not wearing seatbelts, troopers said.

Hildebrand and his passenger, Aleagha Hildebrand, 23, of North Las Vegas, Nev., were treated at the scene for minor external injuries. They were wearing seatbelts, troopers said.
