The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has reported the deaths of two people in the state.
Kelley died as a result of a motorcycle crash in Adair County, troopers reported. He was hospitalized after the crash, which happened about 8:30 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 59 about 4.5 miles north of Stilwell. Kelley was taken to a hospital in Fayetteville, Ark., where he died about 11:35 p.m. Thursday from massive head and internal injuries, the patrol reported. Kelley was driving south when he struck a pickup driven by Wanda Ramona Farrington, 66, of Stilwell, then hit a mailbox and a stop sign. The motorcycle overturned in a ditch. Kelley was wearing a helmet, the patrol said. Farrington and passenger Juanitta R. Arnold, 66, of Stilwell, were not injured, troopers said.
McCreary died in an all-terrain vehicle accident Friday afternoon in Kay County just south of the Kansas state line. Troopers said he was driving about 4:30 p.m. in the river bed of Salt Fork River when the ATV hit an uneven patch of river bed, throwing him. He was not wearing a helmet. McCreary was airlifted to an Arkansas City hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
