The list of defendants in a federal age discrimination lawsuit filed by eight former Oklahoma County employees has been winnowed down to two.
Attorneys representing both sides agreed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Oklahoma City to drop Dan Matthews and Steve Satterwhite from the lawsuit.
Matthews is the county's human resources director and Satterwhite is chief deputy for District 2 Commissioner Brian Maughan.
The two were among four county defendants embroiled in a lawsuit filed by the former employees in 2010. Maughan and the Oklahoma County Board of Commissioners remain the sole defendants in the lawsuit.
The former employees, all of whom worked for District 2, claim they were unlawfully fired by Maughan in the aftermath of an investigation into the alleged misuse of county property.
Jury trial is scheduled for mid-September.
