Two men died Friday after a head-on collision on U.S. 183 in Custer County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

About 4:50 p.m., Shaun Elston, 24, of Clinton, was driving south about two miles north of Arapaho when his vehicle hit the back a vehicle driven by Kenn Sipe, 70, of Gage.

The car Elston was driving then went into a northbound lane and collided with a vehicle driven by Gary Cordes, 60, of Minot, N.D.

Elston and Cordes died at the scene. A 13-year-old passenger in Cordes’ car was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Sipe was not injured.

All but Cordes were wearing seat belts, troopers said. has disabled the comments for this article.
