Two people died Tuesday morning after a head-on collision in Garvin County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Joshua Clark, 18, of Shawnee, and Chase Marical, 24, of Tecumseh, were in a pickup about 6:50 a.m. westbound on State Highway 19.

The pickup went left of center and hit a garbage truck driven by James Nauman, 26, of Pauls Valley, going eastbound, troopers said. Both vehicles caught on fire.

Nauman, who wore a seat belt, was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released.

Clark and Marical died at the scene. It is not clear who was driving or if they were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
