— A head-on wreck killed two people Tuesday afternoon in Adair County, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said.

The wreck happened about 4 p.m. on State Highway 51 about three miles west of Stillwell.

Troopers said a pickup driven by Timothy Asbill, 22, of Stillwell, was headed west when Asbill tried to make a left turn in front of a car driven by Tommy Ridge, 20, of Stillwell, who was headed east.

The two vehicles collided, killing both Asbill and Ridge. A child who was riding in Ridge's car was treated at a nearby hospital and released.

Two other cars were damaged by debris from the wreck, but no one else was injured.

Asbill was not wearing a seat belt. Ridge and the child in his car were wearing seat belts.
