Two earthquakes shake the ground in Oklahoma

A 3.1-magnitude quake shook the ground Saturday afternoon near Ponca City; weak-to-light shaking was felt after a 2.8-magnitude earthquake struck 1 mile east of Chickasha Saturday evening, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

Two earthquakes rattled Oklahoma on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

A 3.1-magnitude quake shook the ground about 3:20 p.m., about 10 miles southwest of Ponca City. Weak tremors were felt in the area but no damage was immediately reported.

A 2.8-magnitude earthquake occurred about 1 mile east of Chickasha shortly after 7 p.m. There were reports of weak-to-light shaking, the USGS reported.
