— A man and his passenger died in a crash with a tractor-trailer early Friday, police reported.

About 12:35 a.m., an injury accident involving a car and a tractor-trailer was reported at the intersection of 54th Street and U.S. 412.

Richard Walker, 38, and Don Richard Powell II, 29, both of Enid, died in the collision, police reported.

A car driven by Walker at a high rate of speed was going east with only one working headlight, according to police.

A tractor-trailer driven by Percy Campbell, 35, of Enid, pulled out from the stop sign going north into the intersection and in front of the path of the car.

The car struck the rig, killing both Walker and his passenger. Investigators noted an odor of alcoholic coming from the car, police reported. The investigation is ongoing, according to a news release from Lt. Warren Wilson.
