Sometime after 11 p.m., Darrin Muegge, 40, and Terrance Cottingham, 18, escaped through a fire escape door, a Kay County sheriff's dispatcher said.

Muegge is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair. Cottingham is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 135 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone with information about the inmates' whereabouts are asked to call the Kay County sheriff's office at (580) 362-2517.

Three escape from jail earlier this month

Muegge, Christopher Barrera and Donald Chapman were caught two days after they escaped from the Kay County jail on June 5. The men apparently were able to get out of their cell and open two fire escape doors using a piece of metal they tore from a jail bunk.

The men were captured at a hotel in Ponca City.

In January 1999, Muegge and four inmates broke out of the Delaware County jail. Police believe the men used a hacksaw blade in the escape through a window.

All inmates were caught within a month.
