Two men sought in baseball bat beating near Oklahoma City bar

A man who was severely beaten with a baseball bat near a south Oklahoma City bar remains hospitalized a week later.

A man was severely beaten with a baseball bat near a south Oklahoma City bar, and police are asking for help locating his attackers.

Officers found the man about 2 a.m. Aug. 11 lying in a ditch across the street from the Chihuahua Bar, 3524 SW 29.

Juan Basurto, 35, of Oklahoma City, remains hospitalized in critical condition at OU Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said Friday.

Police reported Basurto had deep cuts on his head and face, and had teeth broken out of his mouth.

His attackers are described as young Hispanic men, about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, and about 170 pounds each. They may have been in a white Honda, possibly a Civic, police report.
