Two men struck by vehicle on I-35 identified

David Walter, 34, of Noble, and Paul Householter, 63, of Plano, Texas, were killed about 9:30 a.m. Saturday after they exited their vehicles at mile marker 102 on Interstate 35 Saturday and were struck by a car, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

PURCELL — The names of the two men who were struck and killed Saturday by a vehicle on Interstate 35 have been released by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

David Walter, 34, of Noble, and Paul Householter, 63, of Plano, Texas, were killed about 9:30 a.m. Saturday after they exited their vehicles on I-35 at mile marker 102.

Troopers said the two men were walking southbound on the shoulder of the road to help another driver when a vehicle swerved off the road and struck them.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said the driver of the car that hit the men did not see traffic slowing and swerved to avoid hitting the other vehicles.
