COWETA -- A motorcyclist and his passenger died Sunday afternoon after a collision with a sport utility vehicle, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Kenneth Gray, 64, and Jacquelyn Waid, 52, both of Broken Arrow, died in the crash.

About 12:25 p.m., Gray was driving south on a Wagoner County road, about a 1 mile north of Coweta, when a northbound SUV went out of control and crashed into the bike, troopers said.

The driver of the SUV, Timothy Gordineer, 47, of Coweta, was treated for minor injuries and released, but a 7-year-old girl in the vehicle was taken to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition, troopers said.
