Two people died Saturday after separate motorcycle crashes, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Brandon Hughes, 22, Vinita

About 4 p.m., Hughes, 22, was traveling on Summerfield Road about 2 miles west of Jay. The bike slid on some gravel while in a curve and crashed into a guardrail, troopers said.

Hughes, who was wearing a helmet, died on the way to the hospital, troopers said.

Pamela Peacock, 55, Barnsdall

About 2 p.m., Peacock was a passenger on a southbound motorcycle on State Highway 11 in Tulsa County. The motorcycle failed to negotiate a left turn and the driver, Thomas Daniels Jr., 50, of Pawhuska, laid the bike down on its side, troopers said.

Peacock died at the scene and Daniels was taken to a Tulsa hospital and admitted for treatment. Troopers said the riders were not wearing helmets.
