Two people died after suffering injuries during separate vehicle accidents, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Sunday.

Unnamed girl, 12, Mannsville

About 7:15 p.m. Thursday, a girl was driving a 2007 Yamaha Rhino ATV on private property in Mannsville, troopers said.

The left rear tire of the ATV separated from the wheel, causing the vehicle to roll over and land on top of the driver. The girl was not wearing a helmet or seat belt, troopers said.

She was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Ardmore and then to a hospital in Dallas where she died.

Kenneth Stewart, 79, Parkhill

Stewart died Sunday morning after he was injured in a single-vehicle accident in Cherokee County, troopers said.

Just after 11 a.m. Thursday, Stewart was driving a pickup eastbound on a Cherokee County road about 4 miles west of Tahlequah. The vehicle ran off the left side of the road into a field where it hit fences and a utility pole, troopers said.

Stewart was taken to a hospital in Tulsa after the crash. He died Sunday morning.
