Two people die in accidents on Oklahoma roads

A Vici man and a woman from Childress, Texas, were killed in separate crashes on Oklahoma roads, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

A Vici man was struck and killed Wednesday night by a vehicle in Dewey County as he was walking down a highway after his vehicle broke down, and a Childress, Texas, woman died Thursday in Jackson County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Rogelio Rivas, 22

About 10:10 p.m., Rivas, of Vici, was walking west in the westbound lane of U.S. 60, about six miles west of Seiling, when he was hit by a westbound vehicle driven by Belinda E. Breisch, 46, of Sharon, according to a patrol report.

Rivas died at the scene, troopers said.

Breisch and her passenger were not hurt.

Rhonda Klapper, 59

About 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Klapper, of Childress, Texas, was driving south on State Highway 6, just north of the Texas state line in Jackson County, when the pickup she was driving crossed the center line and crashed into a northbound tractor-trailer, according to a patrol report.

Klapper died at the scene and the driver of the rig was not hurt, troopers said.
