Two tribes in Oklahoma ask for judgment in water rights suit
Lawyers representing the Chickasaw and Choctaw nations have asked a federal judge to issue a partial summary judgment in their water rights case against the state of Oklahoma .
The motion, filed Tuesday in federal court, contends that “Oklahoma's stream adjudication statutes do not satisfy federal standards or otherwise reach the relevant questions presented in the nations' lawsuit.”
