Along with cooler temperatures, fall brings in beautiful foliage and new opportunities for relaxation and recreation. Make the most of this sensational season with a 48-hour getaway to Broken Bow or Lawton and fall in love with Oklahoma.

Broken Bow

Book one of Beavers Bend State Park's 47 cozy cabins where you'll be surrounded by stunning foliage from mature trees and the nearby Lower Mountain Fork River.

Morning — Spend the morning at Broken Bow Lake watching the vivid sunrise reflect off the water, or head to the Mountain Fork River for world-class trout fishing. Beavers Bend Fly Shop, located within the park, offers guide service, tackle and tips on the best areas to fish along the river.

Afternoon — After a morning on the water, refuel at the park's on-site Beavers Bend Restaurant, then check out the David Boren Hiking Trail for trails suited to every skill level. Visitors can even take a horseback ride through 2.5 miles of stunning scenery.

Evening — For dinner, visit Abendigo's Grill & Patio located just minutes from the park. Treat yourself to a five-star meal followed up by live music on the patio.

Morning — Linger under the covers longer than normal before kick-starting your day with an autumn-inspired jolt of caffeine from The Hocha Mocha. Indulge in a relaxing massage from Body Harmony Day Spa to work out lingering knots from yesterday's outing.

Afternoon — Continue the pampering with a trip to Girls Gone Wine and take home a bottle of your favorite wine. Continue your mini-vacation with a visit to WhipPoorWill Resort & Fudge Shop to stock up on freshly made fudge. With wine and fudge in hand, find a quiet spot in the park, unfold a blanket and enjoy a picture-perfect picnic.

Evening — When the chilly temperatures push you indoors, head to Grateful Head Pizza Oven & Tap Room where you can warm up with a mouthful of gooey cheese pizza. Take your pie on the patio where a roaring fire and space heaters will keep the chilly weather at bay while you stargaze.
