TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Former University of Tulsa basketball player Pat Swilling Jr. has joined the TU football team as a walk-on.
Swilling is the son of former NFL linebacker Pat Swilling Sr. and is expected to be an H-back for the Golden Hurricane. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Swilling Jr. told the Tulsa World (http://bit.ly/1lnYZwZ ) that he recently spent several weeks at a football training facility and that he had multiple football scholarship offers after playing linebacker in high school — but chose basketball instead.
Swilling missed the final 11 games of TU's 2013-14 season while under investigation for sexual assault.
He was cleared by both police and the university of all allegations.
