One person died Thursday in a fiery crash that involved two tanker trucks on U.S. 270.

The collision happened shortly after noon, six miles north of Geary, closing all four lanes of the highway, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

One tanker carrying crude oil caught fire after the collision, and the driver of the truck died at the scene, Lt. Betsy Randolph said. The fire prevented emergency response crews from getting to the vehicle, Randolph said.

The driver of the other tanker, which was carrying citric acid, escaped with minor injuries, she said.
